Union County lies in the heart of Pennsylvania. Stretching from the Bald Eagle Mountains, which divides Union County from Lycoming County, to the junction of the East and West Branches of the Susquehanna River, Union County is a rich blend of small communities, verdant woodlands, fertile farmlands and many streams and runs. Lewisburg is a focal point for many visits to the area. A showcase of Federal and Victorian architecture, the Union County seat has more than 600 original 19th Century buildings in its historic district - not bad for a town of 5000 residents. Union County is an ideal "vacation headquarters" for your visit to Central Pennsylvania. Lancaster County, with its Amish farmlands and outlet shopping malls is a 1-1/2 hour drive down the Susquehanna River. The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania in Tioga County is a 1-1/2 hour drive north through scenic mountains and forests.
